CAUTION:

The power cable battery and pruner connectors must be connected before turning the battery ON!  Turning the battery ON prior to connecting the power cable WILL cause serious and permanent damage to the pruner.

1. Align the battery socket and cable connector. Turn the cable connector clockwise until firmly attached.

2. Align the pruner socket and cable connector. Turn the cable connector clockwise until firmly attached.

3. CAUTION.  The power cable battery and pruner connectors must be connected before turning the battery ON!  Turning the battery ON prior to connecting the power cable WILL cause serious and permanent damage to the pruner

4. AFTER connecting the power cable to the battery and pruner, turn the battery switch to the ON position. 

5. To open the blades, double click the pruner trigger.

6. To operate, align a branch between the blades, and depress the trigger. The blades will close and cut the branch.  Release the trigger to open the blades.

7. CAUTION.  Keep fingers clear of the cutting blades.

8. To close the blades for storage, depress the trigger for 3 seconds.  The blades will close.  Turn off the battery switch.

INITIAL USE

1. Take pruning shear out if the tool case

2. Prepare the battery belt for use by positioning the battery storage

 bag and the pruning shear holster on the belt.

3. Position and close the battery belt, and adjust until you are comfortable.

4. The battery pouch and the pruner holster can be worn on either side to accommodate both left handed and right handed users.

CAUTION 

1. Charge the battery before the initial use. 

2. To ensure maximum battery capacity, completely charge and drain battery the first five times it is used.

3. To extend battery life, charge the battery once every two months.

4. Charge the battery 8-12 hours the first 3 times.  Afterward charging will be complete in 3-4 hours.

USE

1. Place battery and pruning shear into the battery storage pouch and pruner holster.

2. Toggle battery switch to the OFF position.

CAUTION.  The power cable battery and pruner connectors must be connected before turning the battery ON!  Turning the battery ON prior to connecting the power cable WILL cause serious and permanent damage to the pruner.

3. Remove the cap from the plug on the battery by turning the cap counter-clockwise.  Do the same for the pruning shear cap.

4. Connect each side of the electrical cable with the battery and   pruning shear plugs using the threaded ring covers.  To tighten turn the connector ring clockwise.

5. Turn the battery switch to the ON position.

6. Double click  the trigger, the blades will open. To operate, align a branch between the blades, and depress the trigger. The blades will close and cut the branch.  Release the trigger to open the blades.

7. When not in use, the blades can be closed by depressing the trigger for 3 seconds.  The blades will close and the pruner can then be safely placed into the pruner holster.  When not using the pruner for an extended period of time, or when placing into storage, turn the battery power switch to the OFF position.. 

8. After daily use, during extended storage or when preparing to charge the battery, with the battery in the OFF position, disconnect the electrical cables by turning them in the counter-clockwise direction until loose enough to remove.

9. When not in use, cover the battery plug and pruner plug with the dust cap.

 CAUTION

A.  When distracted from the pruning operation, close the blades by depressing the trigger for 3 seconds.  Route the power cable behind your back, place the pruner into the holster, and turn the battery to the OFF position.

B.  Route the electrical cable around the front of your body, turn on the battery, and double-click the trigger to open the blades and begin working again. 

C.  If the diameter of the wood is too large, the pruning shear will stop closing.

NOTES

After the first half hour of initial use, it is essential to sharpen blade for good maintenance and performance.

USING SUGGESTIONS

*  Increasing pressure on  the trigger will not improve cutting strength.  Press trigger gently to avoid breaking the trigger or causing other damage.  During the operation of pruning, do not try to move blade horizontally, because it will harm shear head.

*  To sustain maximum working time and service longevity, sharpen, thoroughly clean and lubricate the pruner periodically.

*  Under cold or humid condition, cover the pruning shear tool set with a rain coat.

CAUTION

Under heavy and constant use, the internal parts of pruner can become hot. This can deteriorate the pruner’s shearing capacity. Should this happen reduce operating pace or take a short break.

MAINTENANCE AND SERVICE

Operation and maintenance of the electric pruning shears:

1. Keep the electric pruning shears, battery and charger clean.

 2. Do not immerse the electric pruning shears, battery, or charger into water or any other liquids.

 3. Clean the electric pruning shears and charger with a clean damp cloth. (Do not use any corrosive cleaners or solvents.

 4. Clean dust off the blades with soft brush or dry cloth.

 5. Correctly operate the electric pruning shears in accordance with the operating instructions. Do not use damaged electric pruning shears, battery, or charger.

 6. If the switch cannot be normally switched on and off, do not attempt to use the shears. In this condition. the electronic pruning shears can be dangerous and must be repaired.

 7. Be sure that the battery switch is turned OFF , and the power cable is disconnected when making any adjustments.

 8. Store your electric pruning shears in a safe place away from children. Do not let a person who is not familiar with the electric pruning shears operate them.

 9. Inspect the electric pruning shears before each use. If there is damage, they must be repaired before operation.

10. Keep the blades sharp and clean and well-maintained Sharp cutting edges are more easily controlled. .

11. When using the electric pruning shears and its parts, comply with the operating instructions. Using the pruner for work outside it’s operating parameters, can be dangerous.

12. After use, remove dirt from the blades. Coat the pruner blades  with lubricating oil, in order to extend the service life of the pruner.

MAINTENANCE OF THE BATTERY

1. Do not charge in an environment below 0°and higher than +131°, this may damage the battery and charger.

2. Before connecting to the battery, be sure that the battery switch is in the OFF position. If the battery is connected to the electric pruning shears when the switch is in the ON position, the pruner will be seriously and permanently damaged

3. Only use the charger specified by the manufacturer to charge the battery. If the charger does not match the battery, it may result in fire and other hazards.

4. When the battery is not used, store the battery away from coins, keys, nails, screws or other fine metal objects that may result in short circuiting the battery. Short circuiting the battery may result in fire.

5. Do not disassemble the battery. Do not use the battery near a heat source.

6. Do not throw the battery into fire.

7. Do not charge near a fire or expose to heat.

8. Do not mistreat the battery, do not drop, throw, or strike the battery. 

9. Do not allow the battery to get wet.

10. Do not use a battery that shows signs of serious damage or deformation.

11. Do not attempt to repair or modify the battery.  Do not attempt to weld or solder the battery.

12. Do not use the battery to operate other devices or equipment.

13. If the battery leaks, do not use the battery.

14. Keep the battery out of reach of children.

15. Do not use or place the battery in direct sunlight.

16. Do not use the battery in electro-static conditions (more than 64V).

17. For first use of the battery, if there is corrosive, smelly odor, do not use the battery.  Return the battery to the seller.

18. If skin or clothes are stained with liquid from the battery, rinse with water.

19. Fully charge the battery before extended storage.

MISCELLANEOUS MAINTENANCE

 1. To prevent corrosion of cutting head, please use cleaner and lubricant for maintenance at regular intervals. Use damp cloth to remove sap which has accumulated on blades. Use a knife to remove heavy buildup.

2. Clean pruning shear body with damp cloth on a regular basis.

3. Do not store the pruning shear in damp places or outside.

4. Usage and maintenance of battery:

NOTE: To prevent possible leakage, over-heating and damage of the battery, please read the following.

*  The battery of a new electric pruning shear is not charged fully. When its indicator turns red, please charge it immediately, otherwise, it will be permanently harmed.

*  Plug the output plug of the charger into the socket of the battery, and then plug the power plug of the charger into the power socket.

NOTE: The indicator lamp of the charger will be red, indicating the battery is charging.

*  After 3-4 hours, the indicator lamp of the charger will be green, indicating that the charging operation is completed,

*  The fully charged battery can be used for 4-8 hours of continuous work.

SAFETY MEASURES

*  Electrical safety instructions:

1. The battery socket of the electric pruning shears must match with the battery connecting plug. Do not modify the socket and plug in any way.

2. Do not expose the electric pruning shears to rain or a humid environment. If water or other liquids enter the shears, it will increase the risk of electric shock, and result in unit damage.

3.  Do not misuse the electric power cable. Do not lift or pull the electric pruning shears by the power cable.

4. Keep the electric pruning shears away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts.

5.  Do not use the charger when the power cable or plug is damaged. A damaged or twisted electric power cable increases the risk of electric shock.

*  Human safety instructions:

Please read all safety precautions and operating instrutions carefully before using your Koham Electric Pruner.

1. Disregarding relevant safety cautions and operating instructions, may result in electric shock, fire, serious burns or other accidents. Only charge the pruner indoors. Do not dispose of the charger or battery in domestic waste or landfills.

2. Do not use the electric pruning shears in rain.

3. Do not put your hands close to the shearing area when operating the pruning device.

4. Only charge the battery with the original charger. If the connection is not correct, damage could result.

5. Keep alert while operating the electric pruning shears.  Do not operate the electric pruning shears when you feel tired, or are using drugs or alcohol.

6. Use safety devices. Always wear safety goggles. Other safety tools, such as dust masks, anti-slide boots, helmets, and hearing protection devices can reduce injuries.

7. Before turning on the electric pruning shears, insure that adjusting tools and spanners have been removed. Tools or spanners on the rotating parts of the electric pruning shears may result in injury.

8. Keep your hands and face well clear of the cutting area.

9. Do not wear loose clothes or hanging jewelry when operating the electric pruner. Loose clothes, ornaments or long hair may become tangled in the moving parts.

NOTES:

*  Never use the tool if it is damaged, improperly adjusted, or assembled in an incomplete way.

*  It is essential to read the entire manual before initial use. KOHAM waives any responsibility in the event of property damages, physical injury whatsoever caused by inappropriate use not in accordance with manual.

*  Keep your workplace clean and well lit. Shadowed and dark work places may lead to accidents

*  Do not operate the electric pruning shears in an explosive, inflammable or humid environment.

*  Avoid distractions, when operating the electric pruner.

*  Keep the pruning shear out of the reach of children.

GUARANTEE AND NON-RESPONSIBILITY CLAUSE

*  Parts subject to regular wear, such as connecting bolt and blades, are not covered by the one year warranty unless the parts are defective from the factory.

*  Under the condition of strictly operating and doing maintenance according to the user manual, and thus processing in standard and reasonable ways, KOHAM guarantees the mechanical parts of this product to its end customers for a period of 1 year as of the date of delivery to the end user. The period may not exceed 18 months since the date of KOHAM dispatching to its authorized dealers without reaching the end users.

CAUTION:

*  Never try to open and gain access to the inside parts of the pruning shear. Doing so can cause damage to the pruner, property loss or physical injury, KOHAM will not accept responsibility for any loss that results from opening the outer pruner case. Opening the pruner case also voids KOHAM’s one year warranty.

*  KOHAM does not accept responsibility for damages arising from the use of non-original parts or accessories.

*  It is essential to read the entire manual before initial use. KOHAM waives any responsibility in the event of property damages or physical injury caused by inappropriate use not in accordance

with manual.

*  The warranty is void if the anti-dismounting plug is removed by an unauthorized party.
