Description:

Curtis 1268 controllers are separately excited motor speed controllers designed for use in a variety of transport vehicles. These programmable controllers are simple to install, efficient, and cost effective. Typical applications include heavy-duty golf carts, personnel transports, burden carriers, and other utility vehicles.

The buyer should confirm with the seller the battery system voltage, working current and the throttle type. According to the controlle manual, there are 3 throttle types available: 3-wire potentiometer (0kΩ–5kΩ) throttle, 0–5V throttle and 2-wire electronic ITS throttle. For the buyer who wants only replace an older controller, there will be no problem to put the original connector into the new controller. But for new user, attention should be paid on the connection between throttle and controller connectors.
Nominal input voltage: 36 V or 48V

By defaut, the basic controller setting is of 48V / 400A / 0kΩ–5kΩ.

For the buyer without CONTROLLER APPLYING EXPERIENCE, please consult your cart/motor dealer and read carefully the controller manual (PDF format) before making your purchase.

The 1268 controller offers smooth, silent, cost effective control of motor speed and torque. The speed sensor input allows superior closed-loop control for regulating vehicle speed. Unique braking parameters allow simple, intuitive deceleration tuning. A full-bridge field winding control stage is combined with a half-bridge armature power stage to provide solid state motor reversing and regenerative braking power without additional relays or contactors.

These controllers are fully programmable, with the added functionality of being programmable—via the  Curtis Model 1313-4401 Handhold Programmer  or the 1314 PC programming station. This means the controllers can be tailored to the needs of specific applications. In addition to configuration flexibility, use of the programmer offers diagnostic and test capability.
