What is the difference between the imported 18650 and the ordinary 18650 lithium ion battery?

1. Ordinary and imported 18650 lithium ion batteries: the discharge performance is different when the temperature is too low

In the low temperature environment, the battery cell of the ordinary 18650 lithium ion battery cannot drive the machine to work, while the imported lithium ion battery may still drive the machine to work in this relatively bad situation. Although the working time will not be particularly long, this is still more excellent and obvious than ordinary batteries.


2. Ordinary and imported 18650 lithium ion batteries: different storage capacities


The difference in storage capacity is also a big difference between them. The general storage capacity of lithium-ion batteries is about 1200 mA, but foreign ones can break this limit to 5000 mA.


3. Ordinary and imported 18650 lithium-ion batteries: different production environments


From the perspective of production and manufacturing, generally imported batteries that are relatively close to the 10 domestic batteries will undergo accelerated testing after being fully charged. After testing, the imported battery voltage remains unchanged, while most ordinary batteries will have relatively large differences, which will generally reduce the battery's endurance in a short time. During the entire discharge process, It is also easy to cause fire hazards and hidden dangers. Therefore, this difference in production and manufacturing is probably the most important reason why we choose imported lithium ion batteries.


4. Ordinary and imported 18650 lithium ion batteries: different service life


The service life of the battery itself is determined by the shortest battery, while the ordinary 18650 lithium ion battery is produced by the same brand, but also by different batches, so there are relatively large differences in the service life. Most imported batteries can maintain the same service life


5. Ordinary and imported 18650 lithium ion batteries: different in anti vibration amplitude and performance


Generally, the anti vibration performance test of the battery is about 90 minutes. After such a test, we will find that the performance of imported batteries has not changed much. While 50% of ordinary batteries have internal circuit breaks, which makes them unable to use directly. Among the remaining 50%, 20% have too much internal resistance to use. But in a battery pack, even if one battery has the above conditions, the whole battery pack cannot be used again. Therefore, from the perspective of vibration performance, foreign batteries are still better than ordinary batteries, Therefore, this is also the difference between ordinary and imported 18650 lithium-ion batteries


Why should a battery management system be added to the lithium battery pack?


Why should lithium battery pack be equipped with BMS ? Principle of lithium battery BMS. The lithium battery protection board, as its name implies, is used to protect the lithium battery. The role of the lithium battery protection board is to protect the battery from no discharge, no charge, no current, and output short circuit protection. The lithium battery with protective plate is determined by the characteristics of the lithium battery. Lithium battery has its safe discharge, charging and over-current limits. The protection plate is added to ensure that these values do not exceed the safe range when using the lithium battery. Usually, after the lithium battery is equipped with a protection plate, the battery voltage will be controlled within this voltage to protect the lithium battery.




Why add 18650 Battery Plastic Holder Bracket to the battery pack ?


1. Isolation insulation

The battery cells need to be insulated, otherwise it is easy to cause a short circuit. The bracket acts as isolation insulation during PACK assembly. If there is no bracket, the battery cell and the battery cell are only isolated and insulated by the PVC film of the battery cell, which is a hidden danger. If the lithium battery pack is dropped or shaken, the PVC skin will be broken, resulting in a short circuit between the cells, causing a hidden danger of explosion and fire.



2. Large gap, good heat dissipation

In addition to the battery support, there is another advantage, that is, the gap is large and the heat dissipation performance is good. At present, the bracket between the battery cells has a thickness of about 1mm. The battery cells will not be close to each other. The gap is large, and the heat dissipation will be better.


3. Good structural stability

When the total number of batteries in the lithium battery pack is relatively large, the support of the battery cells is added for the stability of the structure of the lithium battery pack.


For example, 72V26Ah needs to use ternary lithium 18650 batteries, 20 series and 10 parallels, and 200 18650 batteries for combination. The volume and weight will be relatively large. If there is no bracket, the structure of the lithium battery pack will not be strong enough, and electric vehicle products will vibrate frequently. After a long time, the lithium battery pack will easily disintegrate and the internal process will be damaged. With the support of the battery cell, the stability of the internal structure is strengthened, and many hidden dangers will be avoided. Especially technology lithium battery pack products, instruments and meters, robots, AGV, electric vehicles, etc. These high-end technology products will use lithium battery packs with brackets.


After the battery cell in the lithium battery pack is added with a bracket, it has good insulation, good heat dissipation, and a stable structure. It is an indispensable part of the PACK assembly process and an important guarantee for safety and stability.


What are the reasons for aging test of lithium-ion battery pack? (Picture below)



1. Make the electrolyte soak better, which is conducive to the stability of battery performance;



2 After aging, the active substances in the positive and negative electrode materials can accelerate some side effects, such as gas production, electrolyte decomposition, etc., so that the electrochemical performance of the lithium battery pack can quickly reach stability;



3 After aging for a period of time, the consistency screening of lithium battery pack shall be carried out. The voltage of the battery cell after formation is unstable, and its measured value will deviate from the actual value. The voltage and internal resistance of the battery cell after aging are more stable, facilitating the selection of batteries with high consistency.



4 The battery performance after high temperature aging is more stable. Most lithium ion battery manufacturers adopt the high temperature aging operation mode in the production process, aging at 45~50 ℃ for 1~3 days, and then shelving at room temperature. After high temperature aging, the potential adverse phenomena of batteries will be exposed: such as voltage change, thickness change, and internal resistance change, which directly test the safety and electrochemical performance of these batteries.
