Description:
This listing is for a door lock repair kit for BMW E46 chassis vehicles between 1998-2006. Kit includes all internal lock pieces pictured above. Our new and improved parts will allow you to fix your broken or jammed locks as well as the spinning syndrome. Don't pay the dealer $200 for a new lock when you can repair your own for a fraction of that price.
3 Instructional Videos Included with Purchase - We have personally repaired hundreds of these locks, and will include our very own detailed instructional videos that will walk you through this repair every step of the way. The main part can be found below. A link with all 3 parts will be emailed to buyer upon completion of purchase. - Part 1 - Removing the lock from your car, Part 2 - Properly disassembling the lock, Part 3 - Rebuilding the lock (found below)
The Pieces:
A = Retaining Clip - This holds all the lock components together
B = Lock Shaft - This shaft has a "cross" shaped top. This cross fits into the actuator within the door and signals the vehicle to unlock the door when turned.
C = Spring - This gives tension to the lock when turned and allows the lock to return to the center position.
D = U-Shaped Middle Plate - This section joins the lock mechanism to the spring and shaft. Two slightly different pieces are provided (driver-D1, passenger-D2). THIS PIECE IS THE MOST COMMON TO FAIL
E = Base plate - This is the bottom piece that functions to keep all the components in place. This piece does not rotate.
F = Tension Pin – This pin holds the retaining clip in place while allowing it to fully rotate
